I have obtained over 50 published opinions in Oregon's appellate courts, including:*Reversal of felony drug conviction by the Oregon Supreme Court based on police unlawfully locking down a house in violation of Oregon Constitution.*Reversal of the Court of Appeals by the Oregon Supreme Court based on state's post-trial loss of a surveillance video that was needed for the appeal.*Reversal of wildlife offense by en banc Court of Appeals based on unlawful seizure during fishing license check.*Reversal of DUII and reckless driving convictions based on improper admission of medical records in violation of state confrontation clause.*Reversal at Court of Appeals based on double jeopardy violation caused by back-to-back prosecutions for failing to register.*Reversal of drug convictions with the Court of Appeals holding that the odor of marijuana does not justify seizing a person under the Oregon Constitution following the legalization of cannabis.

I handle appeals from across Oregon and represent clients in front of the Oregon Court of Appeals, Oregon Supreme Court, and Ninth Circuit.  Prior to entering private practice, I clerked at the Oregon Court of Appeals and worked as an appellate public defender.Appeals are much different than trial, and I help my clients understand and navigate the unique process.
